Setters Responsibilities

 

Authorization, Rules and Regulations and Assessment Sheet for Patient Sitters

 

  • The accompanying person who signed the accompanying permit shall be only permitted to accompany the patient, and it is not allowed to be replaced with an alternative.

  • The accompanying person shall hold such permit all the time, with the understanding that such permit shall be renewed, every 7 days by coordination with staff nurse, as per the sickness condition.

  • If the accompanying person fails to comply with such instructions, permit of accompanying shall be cancelled immediately.

  • Accompanying person shall abstain from smoking absolutely.

  • Accompanying person shall not interfere in medical or nursing matters and shall be kind and respectful in dealing with physicians, nurses and cleaning workers.

  • Accompanying person shall not move among various hospital wards except the ward in which his relative patient is hospitalized.

  • Accompanying person shall wake up at seven thirty a.m., and go to bed at ten p.m. It will be prohibited to use the patient's bed either for sitting or sleeping, and shall not use patient's bed sheets and covers.

  •  Accompanying person shall assist the nurse in moving, bathing and cleaning the patient.

  • Accompanying person shall be responsible for supervising and observing daily activities of the patient and accompany him/ her for making medical examinations if he/she is required to do so.

  • Accompanying person shall not leave the patient under any circumstances without informing the nurse.

  •  If the accompanying person was male servant or housemaid, the sponsor would be liable for his or her actions.

  • Accompanying person shall not use telephone set of nurses station and electrical devices either except by the approval of staff nurse.

  • Accompanying person shall not move any device or piece of furniture or bed sheets inside the patient's room and hospital, and he/she shall keep curtains around the patient's bed down all the times when the patient will be in his/ her bed.

  • Accompanying person shall feed the patient under the supervision of the nurse, and he/she shall absorb and apply all methods of taking care of the patient.

  • Women accompanying infants shall be responsible for the daily duties of health care of the infant such as : bathing the infant, changing diapers, and normal feeding under the supervision of the nurse.

  • Women accompanying children advancing step by step in walking, and junior children shall assist such children when using bathing room for daily bath and when taking meals.

  • Women accompanying children shall not keep any child other than the patient, with exclusion of infants during nursing times, except by permission and under their responsibility.
