The sixteenth training course for basic laparoscopic surgery concludes its work

​​​The sixteenth training course activities for basic laparoscopic surgery which were held at Prince Ahmad Convention Center of Hospital were concluded on Thursday, 26 December 2019.

Dr. Abd Al Aziz Sweilah, the Head of Scientific Committee of Course and the Head of Day Surgery unit, mentioned that and said: “this course aims at introducing the laparoscopic surgery and features thereof and its big role in the reduction of hospitalization period for the patient, indicating the mechanisms of avoidance of laparoscopic surgery risks and introducing the necessary surgery tools and the training on the use thereof, leading-by permission of Allah-to enhancing their performance levels and to the enhancement of quality of health services provided to patients".

Dr. Sweilah indicated that this training course included theoretical lectures in addition to the workshops which focused on the surgical anatomy associated with the laparoscopic surgery and the training on the manual optical compatibility using industrial forms and other important axes.

He said: “the course was held over two days in the presence of 22 trainees and 12 trainers of our fellow doctors distinguished in the field of laparoscopic surgery and it is certified by the Saudi Commission For Health Specialties by 16 continued medical education hours".

He asserted that holding this course is part of the activities of Academic Affairs and Training Health Awareness Department which the hospital is keen to organize. He said: “the organizing scientific committee is keen to set the plans for the development of courses curriculum, contributing in providing advanced performance levels".

He concluded his speech thanking and appreciating the hospital for the support and interest it provides for the educational and training activities and the provision of proper work environment which enhance the capabilities and skills of doctors and practitioners for the best of patients and checkers. And he thanked the lecturers who provided the trainees with their experiences, knowledge and skills as per the latest findings in the laparoscopic surgery. ​
